Conversation to determine the superset of customers that will be targeted
Audience to determine the smaller group of customers in the conversation that will be messaged
Segmentation to determine what groups the customers are divided into in order to deliver a customer-appropriate message

Because customer interests and mail permissions are dynamic, it is important to associate all three customer targeting groups any any suppression lists to the campaign to ensure that customers are targeted or not messaged as appropriate. Over the course of campaigns, a customer's behaviour and interests may move them in and out of conversation, audience and segmentation groups. as well as suppression lists The conversation, audience and segmentation models and suppression lists manage the change of customer status in order to best serve the customers in campaigns.
