Establishing Seed Lists

When rolling out a campaign, you are able to target internal employee groups who will also receive the message. This can be used to confirm the message has been sent to your customers, or used for proofing and quality assurance purposes. These internal groups are called "seed lists". You are able to use seed lists for main messages as well as follow-up messages.
Note: Members of seed lists will always receive the message at the same time as the other targeted customers for the campaign. Connect will not send messages to seed lists at a separate time from other eligible customers.

If your segmentation model is configured to send different messages to the various segments, the seed lists will always receive the message associated with the first segment in the model. Even if they do not qualify for that segment, or if their individual characteristics qualify for another segment, seed list members will only receive the message associated with the first segment. You may include in the first segment as many seed lists as needed by selecting them in this window.

Seed list recipients will only receive follow up messages if they satisfy the follow-up condition from the first message. In other words, they will have the same experience as targeted customers when using follow-up messages.

Seed lists are commonly used to notify certain employees of campaigns, their content as well as campaign roll-out times.

In the Campaign Seed List Definition page you can select the seed lists you want to include in the campaign. You get to the Campaign Seed List Definition page by selecting the Seed List edit icon on the Campaign Define tab.

The instructions for associating seed lists to a campaign can be found in Managing Campaign Targets.
