Using Refer-a-Friend
Connect allows your customers to sign up their friends, family members and associates to a conversation using the Refer-a-Friend function. Customers can use the Refer-a-Friend link to forward the email. When customers click the Refer-a-Friend link, a form appears where they can provide the friend’s information and submit the form. The friend is added to the conversation in Connect as well as receiving an email.
The Refer-a-Friend Form
In the Refer-a-Friend form, labels, form field order, as well as the look and feel of the form can be customized. However, the form field names cannot be modified. These must remain the same so that Connect is able

The look and feel of the Thank You page can also be customized.
The Refer-a-Friend Functionality
The workflow for the Refer-a-Friend functionality occurs in the following manner:
The customer receives an email with a Refer-a-Friend link within the content
The customer clicks the Refer-a-Friend link and is taken to the Refer-a-Friend form associated with the conversation for the email.
Once directed to the form, the customer fills in the contact details of the friend they wish to refer.
Once the form is submitted, the customer is taken to the Thank You message page.
Connect processes the referral and adds the friend to the associated conversation.
A customer record is created for the referred friend.
The referred friend receives the email associated with the content and conversation.
Notes on Refer-a-Friend
The referring customer can only refer one friend at a time.
For Event-Triggered campaigns, Connect does not forward the email to the referred friend. However, the referral can be targeted for future campaigns.
The original content sent from Connect can contain highly personalized information. Thus, an exact copy of the referrer's content is not sent to the referral. When configuring messages containing a Refer-a-Friend link, you must define the referral content ensuring that it is appropriate for customers with no attributes that personalize the content
Refer-a-Friend is .not available for Subscribe or Unsubscribe campaign types.
Refer-a-Friend is not available for Follow-Up messages.
