Connect comes with a set of components you can deploy in a distributed environment. Mail Sender, Mail Receiver and Tracker are components that need to be open to the Internet. These components must be deployed in the organization's DMZ. Other components need access to the Connect database and must be deployed inside the organization's firewall. For more information about the components and deployment in a distributed environment, refer to the Connect Installation and Deployment Guide.

Event Listener is one of the components deployed inside the firewall because it requires access to the Connect database.
