Creating Event Actions
When a specified event occurs, Connect performs a configured action based on the configuration of the event handler listening for the event. Once the qualifying event occurs, Connect performs the configured action. Actions are created and managed in the Event Actions screen.
Creating an Event Action
To create an event action:
Navigate to the Company Admin screen.
Click on the Event Actions menu item under the Campaigns side menu. The Event Actions screen appears.
Select the New Event Action action from the Commands dropdown.
The Enter Event Action Information screen appears.
Enter an action classname into the Action Classname field that will be called when the associated event occurs. Some valid event action classnames are:
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.SendDirectEmailActionHandler: Sends an email with ReliableEmailAgent using mailfarm defined in sysparam MS.SimpleEmailServer "SMTP server for notifications"
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.SendMessageWithETCampaignActionHandler: Creates an EventQueueRow for the provided campaignId and customerId
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.PostMessageToJMSQueueActionHandler: Posts a message to a JMS queue using JMS setup provided by handler
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.CampaignLaunchActionHandler: Launches a specified campaign
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.CallCustomCodeActionHandler: Calls custom code
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.CallWebServiceActionHandler: Calls a webservice using:
GET method and json content-type
POST method and json content-type
POST method and xml content-type
GET method and xml content-type
com.brickstreet.connect.appevents.RuleActionHandler: Sends message:
Directly to a user at a specific address
Using event queue
Using event queue when bounce from list is processed
Note: There are specific action classnames that must be used in order for Connect to act accordingly. Each of the action classnames come with specific event handler properties that can be edited in the event handler. For more information on editing event handler properties, please see Editing Event Handler Properties.To cancel without saving the event action, click the Cancel button. You are returned to the Event Actions screen.
Click the Save button. You are returned to the Event Actions screen with the new event action displayed in the event actions list.
