Connect web services provide functionality that is similar to the Connect User Interface and to the Event Listener in a Connect deployment. Web services are packaged as a Java Web Application and are deployed and secured similarly to the Connect User Interface (UI). In particular, web services use the same username and password authentication as the Connect UI.
