General Rules for Integration

Database connectivity (that is, ODBC) between your original database(s) and the staging tables must be established.

• ODBC between your staging tables and the Connect ETL staging tables must be established. For details, see the table permission requirements listed under Staging and Job Control Table Specifications.

• ODBC between the Connect database and the Informatica server must be established.

• All your database sources must write to the Connect ETL staging tables.

• The JOB_CONTROL table must be in the same database as your staging tables in order to keep the Date/Time stamp fields of your staging tables in synch with the Date/Time stamp fields in the JOB_CONTROL table.

• Customer Master data should be loaded into Connect first, before loading the Customer Subscription and Customer Attribute data.

• The ETL error tables (for example, ERROR_CUSTOMER_MASTER, ERROR_CUST_SUBSCRIPTION, ERROR_CUST_ATTRIBUTES) should be checked after data loads are completed in order to analyze and handle data that was not successfully updated into the Connect data schema.
