Event Attributes and ExternalXML

Add parameters to event records with Event Attributes and ExternalXML.

• Event Attributes (also known as Event Parameters) are predefined, typed parameters associated with the Event.

• ExternalXML is an arbitrary XML document associated with the Event.

Use Event Attributes when the data to associate is small and has a single data type, such as string, number, or date. On the other hand, if the data is complex and structured, use ExternalXML.

Event Attributes and ExternalXML can be used to personalize content. However, Event Attributes can be used in the campaign's targeting criteria (such as in the Segmentation Model associated with the Event-Triggered campaign).
