Electronic Direct Marketing (EDM) Technical Considerations

When creating EDM content, there are several technical considerations:

  • Links cannot contain any special characters such as (e.g. !, ?)

  • Add a Change to Text Notice at the beginning of the EDM

  • Fully qualify image links to the Web Server directory

  • Do not include local links

  • Text links must contain spaces on both sides

  • Text messages must contain HARD returns

  • Mail merge should be valid

  • Set-up a default case

  • Text messages cannot contain hidden characters

  • Text messages cannot exceed 60 characters in length per line
