Database Connections

You must specify connections to the source and target databases in order to extract and load data. To specify connections:

1. In the Server Manager, select Server Configuration, Database Connections to open the Database Connections dialog box.

2. Click Add to enter a new database connection. The Edit dialog box appears. Enter the appropriate information.

   • Data Source - Names the connection string.

   • User Name and Password - These provide access to the database.

   • Connect String - The database’s native connection string to log on to the appropriate database.

   • Database Type - Select the target’s database type.
